Suggested Tips for Creating a Learning Space for your Child
Carving out a corner for you child's remote learning is a great way to help set your child up for success. Begin with a table or desk that fits the size of your child. This will help with focus and proper hand writing development.
Lower distractions. If their learning space is located in their bedroom be mindful of all of the toys they would rather be playing with during learning time.
Set rules or expectations during school hours.
- Listen to your teacher
- Do not take the iPad into the bathroom with you
Keep the space simple and organized. Have a hook for headphones and a place to store school supplies and learning kits (provided by teacher) in easy reach.
Be sure to locate the learning space near an outlet so your child's device can be plugged in when needed.
We recommend kindergarten students use an iPad but a laptop with a webcam could be used. If your child does not have access to a device that they can use all day (not shared with sibling) you can borrow an iPad from the school.
